Challenge yourself to a half marathon in Glasgow. It's a mostly flat course with only a few hills at the start, perfect for half marathon beginners.

Starting at George Square, the route takes in the best of Glasgow, from buzzing city streets to beautiful green spaces. Music, entertainment and legendary Glaswegian local support will keep you motivated all the way.

We believe that home is a human right. Run with us and join the fight for housing justice.

You must be at least 17 years old to take part in the Great Scottish Run half marathon.

Already have your own place?

If you've already secured a spot, you can use your place to fight the housing emergency by running and fundraising for Shelter Scotland. We'd love for you to join the team – please get in touch.

Your run fuels the fight for home

A woman with a megaphone shouts her support for Shelter Scotland runners at the sidelines of a race.

When you run with Team Shelter Scotland, every pound you raise helps defend the right to a safe home for everyone. For example:

  • £40 could fund two webchats for people facing homelessness so they know their rights

  • £157 could pay for legal advice to help a family in crisis keep their home

  • £290 could fund 10 calls to our helpline

We also campaign for long-term change that will tackle the root causes of homelessness.

Fundraise for Shelter Scotland

We recommend setting up a JustGiving page for online fundraising. If you do not already have a fundraising page, our community fundraising team can help you set one up. You can ask people to sponsor you through your fundraising page or use a paper fundraising form.

We're here to support you with your fundraising. If you have any questions, please email us at communityscotland@shelter.org.uk.

Find our fundraising resources here.

Gift Aid on donations

Please encourage people who sponsor you to include Gift Aid in their donations. It's a fantastic way to help us raise extra funds and be there for more people living in unsafe housing. Gift Aid does not count towards your fundraising target.
