The Loch Ness Marathon is one of the most scenic marathons in the UK. It's a point-to-point route that starts in atmospheric moorland and follows the south-eastern bank of Loch Ness. So there's plenty of chance to enjoy the beautiful views and spot mythical creatures!
The course is flat in some sections and undulating in others. It's mostly downhill at the start, with some challenging climbs past the halfway point. Cheered on by supporters and local residents, you'll finish like a champion in Inverness, the capital city of the Highlands.
You must be at least 18 years old to take part in the Loch Ness Marathon.

Your run fuels the fight for home
When you run and fundraise for Shelter Scotland, you're standing with people who face unsafe housing and homelessness. For example, your £400 fundraising pledge could:
fund 20 webchats for people facing homelessness so they know their rights
fund over 12 calls to our helpline
pay for legal advice to help two families in crisis keep their home
We believe that home is a human right. Join us in the fight for housing justice.

Fundraise for Shelter Scotland

We recommend setting up a JustGiving page for online fundraising. If you do not already have a fundraising page, our community fundraising team can help you set one up.
You can ask people to sponsor you through your fundraising page or use a paper fundraising form.
We're here to support you with your fundraising. If you have any questions, please email us at communityscotland@shelter.org.uk.
