Join Shelter Scotland for the Scottish Half Marathon 2026. This half marathon follows a fast, flat route - ideal for beginners or experienced runners chasing a personal best.
Starting at 11am just outside Edinburgh, you'll run most of the course along the stunning East Lothian coastline. Take in picturesque harbour towns like Port Seton, then finish in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse, Scotland's oldest racecourse.
The standard entry fee is £46.75, and there is no minimum fundraising pledge – please raise as much as you can. Complete the form at the end of this page to register your interest, and we'll follow up with details of how to join.
When you run for charity with Shelter Scotland, you're helping to fight the devastating impact of the housing emergency.
You must be at least 17 years old to take part in the Scottish Half Marathon.
Already have your own place?
If you've already secured a spot, you can use your place to fight for housing justice by running and fundraising for Shelter Scotland. We'd love for you to join the team – please get in touch.

Your run fuels the fight for home

When you run with Team Shelter Scotland, every pound you raise helps defend the right to a safe home for everyone. For example:
£19 could pay for 30 minutes expert housing advice with a helpline adviser
£46 could fund two webchats for people facing homelessness so they know their rights
£290 could fund 10 calls to our helpline
We also campaign for long-term change that will tackle the root causes of homelessness.
Fundraise for Shelter Scotland
We recommend setting up a JustGiving page for online fundraising. If you do not already have a fundraising page, our community fundraising team can help you set one up. You can ask people to sponsor you through your fundraising page or use a paper fundraising form.
We're here to support you with your fundraising. If you have any questions, please email us at communityscotland@shelter.org.uk or call 0344 515 1190.
Find our fundraising resources here.
Gift Aid on donations
Please encourage people who sponsor you to include Gift Aid in their donations. It's a fantastic way to help us raise extra funds and be there for more people living in unsafe housing. Gift Aid does not count towards your fundraising target.
