From bake sales to gala balls, there are so many great ways you can fundraise for Shelter Scotland. So, whether you’re whipping up some treats or moving your feet, here’s a few ideas to get you started.
Harmonise
How do you raise over £300 for Shelter in an hour? Just ask Harmonise, a community choir based in Edinburgh.
Taking to the city centre one Saturday in the run up to Christmas, their carol singing went down a treat and they were rewarded with plenty of audience participation and some very generous donations from shoppers.

Keir

It’s no mean feat to walk the 96 miles of the West Highland Way, but 10-year-old Keir was up for the challenge, deciding to walk the length of it to raise vital funds for Shelter Scotland.
Testing his endurance alongside mum Ann, the pair’s efforts raised an incredible £700. Thanks Keir!
Burton's Biscuits
To show their solidarity and raise money to help support those facing homelessness, the staff at Burton’s Biscuits signed up to take part in a sponsored sleep out.
Spending all night outside, the group raised a fantastic £2,500, following up their achievement by inviting us in for a lunchtime learning session to find out why their sponsorship is so vital in continuing our work.

How your hard work makes a difference

‘I’ve got a lot of love for Shelter Scotland,’ says Paddy, a former rough sleeper who turned his life around after meeting Colette, one of our peer mentors.
It was Colette’s personal experience of overcoming addiction and homelessness that made Paddy believe he could do it too.

‘I knew Colette wasn’t lying,’ he says. ‘The stuff she told me really resonated. I thought, well, if you’ve got clean and you’re doing what you’re doing, there’s still a chance for me.’
Now Paddy has a flat, a partner, and a baby – and he’s working for Shelter as part of our peer mentoring programme.

‘My life has turned around and now I’m doing what Colette used to do,’ Paddy says.
‘Peer mentors, there’s a lot that they can do. They’re definitely called for.’
